Orchids

The sun is shining
The snow is soft and plentiful.
I am skiing
among
sweeping slopes that are lined with
magenta orchids.


They
guide me to
a Japanese lake
in spring where I will sit
under a pergola
and listen to the nearby stream
roll over moss fed stones
