Beach

I must get to the beach
I must touch my feet to the sand
I must go to the ocean
And dive in
And swim for hours
Jumping over
Diving through
Each curling wave
I must be with you beach
We have this long standing relationship
For your tide welcomes me
Brings me to unchartered waters
And safely returns me to the shore.

Pugsly and the Priest

Last night we lost our 13 year old pug, Bugs, to cancer.  May you rest in peace! You welcomed me every morning and evening for the past 13 years and brought more joy to our family than you will ever know! I will forever remember our early morning breakfast ritual and your gentle, unconditional love.

On Monday, we sent our friend and priest, Fr. Catania, to heaven. God bless you for all you have given to our family over the years.  Your wit, intellect, and faith will long be remembered.

May they play joyfully in heaven with unlimited amounts of their favorite things: sand, scotch and carrots.  Guess who liked what :).

Our extreme gratitude goes out to our veterinarian, Dr. Eng, and to the entire staff at Terry Animal Hospital and at Westbury Emergency Clinic.  Your compassion and support during our moment of loss will always be remembered.   Fr. Ed, Lois, Trisha, Rita, Maureen, Tom, Valerie, Cass, Lisa and many others, thank you for being there for Tom, always.  You are kindred spirits, and I hope your memory of Tom lives forever.

Summer Awaits

A summer plane just flew by; perhaps you hear these planes everyday; I, only when approaching, during, and ending my summers in New York.

I hope you get a chance to enjoy all the sounds of spring and summer.

Spring's Beginning

For me, spring officially began yesterday on Easter Sunday.  It was a day of springlike weather, new birth, rebirth, and time spent with those I love.

Today is April 1st, and I am happy to embrace this season, which for me, has finally begun.

This morning I sit in my easy chair enjoying the sunrise for a little over an hour now

Softly, emerging

bringing me a familiar feeling of comfort

warmth, enlightenment

opening the dawn of a new day

birds chirping, evergreens whispering

I look forward to the rest of this beautiful day

I hope you do as well.
